Privacy Policy

This policy describes what personal information A Custom Name (acustomname.com) collects when you browse the site or buy a mug, why we need it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. If anything here is unclear, email support@acustomname.com.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Order details: your name, email address, billing address, shipping address and, if you choose to enter it, a phone number for the carrier.
  • Personalization text: the names, initials, dates or words you ask us to print on a mug.
  • Messages: anything you write to us by email or through a contact form, including photos you attach.
  • Account details: if you create an account, your login email and password (stored in hashed form).

Information collected automatically

  • Your IP address, browser type, device type and the pages you visit, recorded in standard server logs.
  • Cart and session information stored in cookies (see section 5).

Payment information

Card and wallet payments are handled by Stripe. Your full card number is entered on Stripe’s secure form and is never stored on our servers. We receive only limited details such as the card brand, the last four digits and whether the payment succeeded.

2. Why we use it

  • To print the text you requested, produce your mug and deliver it.
  • To send order confirmations, shipping updates and replies to your questions.
  • To process payments, refunds and cancellations, and to help prevent fraud.
  • To keep the website running, secure and working properly.
  • To meet tax, accounting and other legal obligations.

We do not send marketing emails unless you have opted in, and you can unsubscribe at any time with the link in the email.

3. Who receives your information

We share only what each party needs to do its job:

  • Partner mug print studios receive your personalization text, the order items and the shipping name and address so they can print and pack the mug.
  • Shipping carriers receive your name, shipping address and, if provided, phone number to deliver the parcel.
  • Stripe processes your payment and may use device information to detect fraud.
  • Hosting and email service providers store the website data and deliver our emails on our behalf.
  • Public authorities, only when we are required to by law.

We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

4. How long we keep it

Order records are kept for as long as needed to handle returns and warranty claims and to meet accounting and tax rules. Messages are kept while a conversation is open and for a reasonable period afterward. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or make it anonymous.

5. Cookies

Cookies are small files stored by your browser. Our store uses:

  • Essential cookies from WooCommerce that remember your cart, keep you logged in and complete checkout. The store cannot work without them.
  • Payment cookies set by Stripe during checkout for security and fraud prevention.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies will stop the cart and checkout from working.

6. Your rights and choices

Wherever you live, you can ask us to:

  • tell you what personal information we hold about you and send you a copy;
  • correct information that is wrong or incomplete;
  • delete your personal information, apart from records we must keep by law (for example, invoices);
  • stop using your information for marketing.

To make a request, email support@acustomname.com from the address used on your order, with the subject “Privacy request”. We may ask you to confirm your identity before acting on it. Residents of California, the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom have these rights under their local laws, and we will not treat you differently for using them.

7. Security

The site uses HTTPS encryption, and access to order data is limited to the people who need it to fulfil your order. No method of storage or transmission over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

8. Children

Our store is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. International transfers

Our team works from Vietnam, and our service providers may process data in other countries, including the United States. By using the site you understand that your information may be handled outside your home country, always under the protections described here.

10. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date below.
